What is general handwriting digitization?

General handwriting digitization means ScribbleScan is capable of reading ANY handwriting! Traditional OCR technologies are often trained to read specific handwriting (i.e. cursive, print, computer text...). This limits their ability to read unique handwriting or text with mixed styles. ScribbleScan is NOT trained on any specific handwriting, so give it the toughest handwriting you've got!

What does this mean for you?

This means we have designed ScribbleScan to be as simple as possible, with results you expect. No more messing with settings you don't understand, or figuring out which method will work the best. ScribbleScan takes your image, and does the rest of the work for you!

Why can't I save my results on ScribbleScan?

We often get asked why we don't offer a feature to save your processed documents directly on ScribbleScan. The answer is simple: it's all about your privacy. Our core commitment is to ensure your documents remain absolutely private and secure.

How else do you protect my information?

All processing happens temporarily in memory, and your data is automatically deleted once your results are ready. We also process all documents to exclude all metadata—this is hidden information embedded in files, like who created a document, when it was last modified, or the device used. By stripping this, we ensure only the image content itself is ever handled.

How does ScribbleScan use AI and how does it affect my privacy?

To provide you with the best possible results, we use industry-leading AI tools from partners like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. We only send them simplified, optimized image copies of your documents for processing. No other personal data is sent to these services. Each of these services operates under its own privacy policies, which you can review directly.

How quickly is my data removed?

Whether your document processing is successful or encounters an issue, all your data is automatically and permanently removed from our systems within minutes.
